On Saturday, March 18th beginning at 7:00 pm, Adeyola will conduct and perform with a quartet for a special event at the Main Street Gallery (515 Main Street, Buffalo, NY 14203) entitled: A Salute to Black History. Tickets for this special salute are $35.
On Sunday, March 19th beginning at 3 pm, Sabu Adeyola will host a celebration entitled A Tribute to the Ladies of the Colored Musicians Club to be held at the Buffalo East Artspace located at 1412 Main Street, Buffalo, NY. The ensemble Sabu Adeyola and Oasis will provide the music for this celebration. Donation for this event is $5.
Sabu Adeyola has had a long and rich history in the jazz world. As a student of Charles Mingus and as a long-time bassist for jazz pianist legend Ahmad Jamal, his contributions to the international jazz community can be found on numerous recordings. Adeyola also is a board member for the Historic Colored Musicians Club and has been a central figure in the jazz community here in Buffalo for many years. Sabu Adeyola has been nominated previously for the JazzBuffalo Jazz Artist of the Year Award and was the 2016 JazzBuffalo Poll Upright Bassist of the Year winner.
